Rain Garden Phase I

May 7, 2015 at 12:00 pm (School Supplies)

Excavation complete!  Strength in numbers as these Little V’s worked like little bees and tore a load out of the site.  Thank you to the grown-ups for helping us in our quest to create a natural filtration system that will reduce the amount of pollutants that enter our ground water from the parking lot run-off.  Next the class will revisit our mapping of plants, check for spacing, and modify if necessary for those plants that can tolerate more standing water than others for certin lengths of time.  On the list to purchase are wax myrtles, dwarf palmettos, yaupons, anise shrubs, and mulhy grass.  We’ll be selecting these from Carolina Home & Garden.  #Keep it Local.
